Tempe's best twilight subjects are its pool homes in South Tempe and the Kyrene Corridor, its lakefront homes in The Lakes, and its condos with views of Tempe Town Lake and the downtown skyline. At dusk, with the lights on and the sky turning blue, each of them gets a hero image that stands out against midday exteriors in the search results.
Tempe homes that suit twilight
- South Tempe and Kyrene Corridor pool homes, where a lit pool and patio carry the image.
- The Lakes and Lakes West, where the lit home reflects in the water.
- Condos and townhomes with a view of Tempe Town Lake or the skyline, shot from a balcony or terrace.
- Mid-century homes with architectural lighting that brings out their lines.
For homes with little exterior lighting and no pool, water or view, a virtual twilight, $50 for 5 photos, usually gives most of the effect for less.
How the shoot works
Twilight is its own visit, timed to the short window when the sky and the home's lights are balanced. We start about 15 minutes before sunset and shoot through dusk, typically 20 to 30 minutes after the sun drops, covering the front exterior, the backyard and pool, and any water or skyline view. If you book photos and twilight on the same day, we schedule the photo shoot for late afternoon so twilight follows straight on.
What to prepare
Turn on every light, inside and out, including pool, spa and landscape lighting, and make sure they all work. Open blinds facing the camera, move cars and bins, and have the pool clean and still. For condos, make sure balcony or terrace access is arranged.
Pricing and delivery
Twilight photography starts at $200 added to a photo shoot ($285 on its own), priced by season, delivered the next business morning. See twilight photography. Twilight drone is possible in parts of Tempe, but much of the city sits in Sky Harbor's airspace, so we check authorization before booking.
Frequently asked questions
Can you shoot twilight from a condo balcony?
Yes, when the unit has a view worth capturing. Building access needs to be arranged in advance.
What if it's cloudy?
We reschedule at no charge.
Is twilight worth it on a smaller Tempe home?
If it has a pool or good lighting, often yes. If not, virtual twilight is usually the better value.
